The Story of Barbers on Fourth

Growing up on the East side, I knew nothing about Rochester. My first experience here was at Heart of the Hills Barbershop as a fill in barber. It wasn’t long until I knew I would really like to work in this community. That shop eventually moved upstairs in the Main Street Plaza and that’s when my job became permanent in 1986.
After 13 years an opportunity came to me to purchase the little barbershop on Fourth Street. As a single mother I was afraid to make the move, so finally I prayed about it. The Lord gave me the scripture Jeremiah 29:11. That gave me the confirmation I was seeking. In January 1999, Barbers on Fourth was established. After 14 years we outgrew the little barbershop, so we expanded and moved 2 doors down.
We have a great team of barbers that give 100%. It’s been a pleasure working with the community for all this time and even being the barbers in some families for 3 and 4 generations. We hope to meet you soon and we hope you will make Barbers on Fourth your new family tradition.
